Sara trained as a massage therapist in Colorado at Denver Integrative Massage School and is currently licensed and practicing in Maine. She continues her massage education at the Downeast School of Massage as well as with practitioners across the country.
Her approach to bodywork is inspired by the wavelike, compressive, and intuitive practices of Hawaiian Lomilomi and Thai massage. Her sessions ebb and flow between long, lapping, continuous strokes and deeper, heavier, more targeted strokes, integrating muscle-melting compressions and expansive stretching for a more dynamic approach to massage therapy. Each massage is tailored to her client’s unique goals, focus areas and wellness histories.
Sara uses organic oils and products sourced from Mountain Rose Herbs in Eugene, Oregon, Living Libations in Ontario, Canada, and Poppy and Someday in the canyons of Southern California. This helps keep clients, kids and earth chemical-free, and puts resources into earth-minded, sustainable businesses.
Sara is also a certified birth doula trained by Ana Paula Markel of Bini Birth and Paula Mallis of WMN Space in California. She loves working with expecting and new mums and welcomes any questions during sessions!
Aside from massage and birthwork, Sara holds a BA in Political Science and Global Studies from the University of Vermont, flameworks glass beads, spends her mornings and evenings on the beach with her German Shepherd, Forest, and keeps a cozy coastal Maine home with her lobster-fishing partner.
